HVS Hodges Ward Elliott brokers sale of Chateau Hotel Mont Royal in France to BMF

BMF Group, in co-investment with another French family office, PFH, have acquired the five-star Chateau Hotel Mont Royal situated in the forests of Chantilly, north of Paris and less than 20 kms from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Originally constructed in 1911 as a luxurious residence and hunting lodge, the chateau was converted into a hotel in the 1990s and today features 108 luxurious guest rooms including 13 suites, as well as conference facilities totalling 891 sqm, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and two treatment rooms, set on a 5-hectare freehold site. HVS Hodges Ward Elliott brokered the sale on behalf of the sellers.

Private investor acquires the Maldron Hotel Oranmore Galway in Ireland

A private investor has acquired the four-star 113-room Maldron Hotel Oranmore Galway in Ireland off a guide price of £13 million (£115,000 per room) when it entered the market in September 2022, which indicated a net initial yield of 6.3%. The hotel was offered subject to an existing occupational lease with Caruso, guaranteed by Dalata Hotels, with 11 years remaining. The hotel will continue to be leased and operated by Dalata, under its Maldron brand. The property is situated 10-minutes' drive from Galway and is near tourist attractions such as the Cliffs of Moher, Ballybrit Racecourse and the Burren. Opened in 1998, the hotel includes a bar and restaurant, leisure centre and pool, and meeting facilities.

K/S Atlantic acquires the Scandic Jacob Gade hotel in Vejle, Denmark from K/S HJG

Danish firm K/S Atlantic has acquired the upscale 129-room Scandic Jacob Gade hotel in the centre of Vejle, Denmark, from K/S HJG, for a reported DKK 100 million, approximately €13.4 million (€104,000 per room). Located in the south-east of the Jutland Peninsular, Vejle has a population of some 120,000 and is the ninth largest city in Denmark. Built in 2005 adjacent to the Vejle Music Theatre, the Scandic Jacob Gade hotel includes the Restaurant Noden and 11 meeting rooms. Danish firm K/S HJG is owned by a number of investors. Headed by Henrik Kjær Nielsen, K/S Atlantic already owns other hotels in Denmark including the 94-room The Lodge in Billund, 136-room Hotel Kolding in Kolding and 106-room Hotel Atlantic in Aarhus.

HD Hoteles acquires the Oasis Village hotel on Fuerteventura in Spain's Canary Islands

Canary Islands-based hotel group HD Hoteles has acquired the three-star 232-room Oasis Village hotel in Fuerteventura, in the town of Corralejo, in the Canary Islands, for an undisclosed amount. The new owners are set to carry out repositioning and renovation plans on the hotel. It will be operated under HD Hoteles' Family & Joy branding. The property currently includes a swimming pool, restaurant, bar, tennis and volleyball courts and wellness facilities. In past years, the hotel has been part of some financial turbulence with a previous owner declaring bankruptcy. This acquisition marks the fifth hotel for HD Hoteles in the Canary Islands, with the others being located on Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Lanzarote.

Szarvadi family acquires former K+K Elisabeta Hotel in Bucharest from InterGlobe

Romanian hoteliers and restaurateurs Lorand and Zsuzsanna Szarvadi have acquired the four-star 67-room former K+K Elisabeta Hotel in Bucharest, Romania, for an undisclosed sum, from Indian aviation, hospitality and travel conglomerate InterGlobe. The hotel is set to reopen under the new PeakTure hotel brand, created by marketing consultant Brandient, and will be named the PeakTure Hotel Elisabeta. Located in the centre of the capital city, the hotel was opened in 2006 by Austrian-based the Koller brothers, who founded K+K Hotels in 1961, and includes a bar, restaurant, meeting facilities and a fitness centre. The Szarvadi family also own the four-star 78-room Balvanyos Resort & Spa in Covasna in central Romania, as well as several restaurants and wine shops in Bucharest. InterGlobe had owned the property since 2019.
